Police officers in Waco are investigating a capital murder case after responding to an assault-in-progress call on Sunday, March 26th. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. near the 2100 Block of Clay Ave, leading to one male suspect being taken into custody.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 59-year-old female victim unconscious and covered in blood. The suspect was present on-site and was promptly detained. Officers initiated lifesaving measures for the female victim until she was transported to Hillcrest Hospital by AMR. Regrettably, her injuries proved too severe, and she was later pronounced dead.
A second victim, a 70-year-old male, was also found at the location and was pronounced dead on-scene. The identities of the victims and the suspect have not yet been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
Bryton Johnson, the Public Information Officer, has confirmed these details but has not provided further information at this time.
