Guess Family Barbecue, located at 2803 Franklin Ave., continues to satisfy customers with its mouthwatering menu and welcoming atmosphere. Recognized as one of the Top 25 New Barbecue Joints in Texas by Texas Monthly, the eatery is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The barbecue joint offers a wide variety of old-school barbecue options, including brisket, pork spare ribs, beef and pork sausage, chicken, and pulled pork, which are all sold by the half-pound. Some popular items on the menu include sliced brisket, mac & cheese, and potato salad.
For those with larger appetites, Guess Family Barbecue offers sampler platters like the Meat Sweats, which includes a sampling of all the meats, and The Holy Feast, which features the Meat Sweats with a sampling of all sides. These platters can serve up to four people.
Guess Family Barbecue has garnered numerous positive reviews on Facebook. Stefanie Eis, a first-time visitor from out of town, said the brisket melt was “awesome” and “highly recommended.” Another patron, Gwynne Cook Pelton, praised the deviled eggs, broccoli salad, and cheese grits, noting that “the meats are so moist and tender, they almost melt in your mouth.”
