Killeen ISD Board Launches Search for New Superintendent

The Killeen Independent School District (KISD) Board of Trustees has initiated the search for a new superintendent to lead the school district. At a recent board meeting on March 6, JG Consulting was selected to head the search process. The Board aims to conduct a transparent process that involves the community and has invited everyone to share their opinions on the qualities that the new Superintendent should possess. Parents, staff, students, and community members can provide their feedback through the Superintendent Search Survey until April 14.

Additionally, KISD has scheduled three community town hall meetings that will be conducted in English and Spanish. These events provide an opportunity for community members to provide their input on the qualities they would like to see in the next Superintendent.

The search process began on March 13 with board member interviews, and a press conference was held on March 28. Community engagement and town hall meetings have been scheduled from April 3 to April 14. After the feedback has been received, JG Consulting will review the leadership profile of the candidates and the community input in April. The application period for the position of the new Superintendent will run from April 19 to May 12. The review of the candidates will occur on May 18, followed by two rounds of interviews with the candidates from May 22 to June 5. The KISD Board of Trustees will name a single finalist in the week of June 5 to June 15. The board will then vote to approve the final candidate.

KISD is dedicated to hiring the best-suited candidate for the superintendent position, and the community’s opinions are being considered to make the right choice. The new Superintendent is expected to be appointed in the summer, and their role will commence in the 2023-24 academic year.
