MCC’s Corporate Training Program Secures Grants for Local Skills Training

McLennan Community College’s Corporate Training Department has received a Skills Development Fund Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. The $289,110 grant was awarded to train 440 employees of four local businesses in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. The businesses include Polyglass USA, Romark Logistics, Ascension Providence Healthcare, and Baylor Scott and White Health.

The courses covered in the grant program include cross-operational training, leadership, mechanical/electrical, OSHA, LEAN Manufacturing, computer applications, and healthcare-specific content. The manufacturing/healthcare consortium program is designed to enhance the skills of employees and support local businesses’ growth.

This grant marks the first time Polyglass USA is participating in a Skills Development Grant with MCC. Meanwhile, Baylor Scott & White Health, Ascension Providence Healthcare, and Romark Logistics have been recurring grant partners.
