TAMU–Central Texas Names CIS Department in Honor of Local Tech Entrepreneur, Abdul B. Subhani

Texas A&M University–Central Texas has announced the renaming of its computer information systems department in honor of local philanthropist and tech entrepreneur, Abdul B. Subhani. The university held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion and recognize Subhani’s contributions to the community. The Subhani Foundation has established an endowment fund to support the Department of Computer Information Systems. This is the first time that a department has been named after an individual in the university’s history. The endowment will provide funding for research and professional development for faculty and students in areas such as information systems, information technology, and cybersecurity. Subhani is an alumnus of Central Texas College and Texas A&M University–Central Texas, where he also served as a faculty member. He is the founder of Centex Technologies and the Subhani Foundation and serves on several boards and councils.
